Invitation
to Join in Kamado Extruded Coconut & Lump Pallet Order
We are consolidating Kamado Extruded Coconut
and Lump Charcoal pallet orders NOW for early spring delivery from our Kamado
customers and thought you would like to join in sharing some boxes on this
pallet. As you know, there is a substantial savings in shipping costs by
increasing the number of boxes or weight per shipment and by joining others you
will save enough in shipping to be able to receive the “Best Charcoal in the
World” for no more or possibly much less than a very poor quality briquette or
lump charcoal.
NEW this year we are now shipping
two or more pallets DIRECT from our factory in Indonesia to a Container
Freight Station warehouses in 71 cities in the USA. This is in addition to
shipping from our warehouse in San Diego to all locations and residences. There
is a minimum of 2 pallets (60 boxes per pallet) for shipping direct from our
factory in Indonesia. There is a substantial savings in shipping from our
factory over shipping from our warehouse in San Diego. Additional pallets over
2 there is addition savings. You can select from two types of Kamado charcoal
which are Extruded Coconut (“KEC”), Tamarind Lump or a combination of the two.
Both types of charcoal are shipped in the same size box,
which is 13” x 9” x 7.5” The boxes can be stacked up to 10 feet high without
crushing the box or the charcoal which makes it very easy to stack in a limited
space. Each pallet has 60 boxes or one cubic meter (“CBM”).
We will have a volunteer “Charcoal Kaptain” who will
coordinate the pick up of your charcoal at the warehouse. By prior agreement
with the Charcoal Kaptain, he or she will make arrangements for you to pick your
charcoal order from their home or other location.
The process for ordering is as follows:
·
The order is taken by Kamado Distribution
Company. Either by Email to
sales@kamado.com or by telephone at 877 257 6871 and/or voice mail message
where we will return the call during normal business hours.
·
An invoice will be sent by email indicating
the amount boxes ordered, type of charcoal, and the total price which will
include all shipping and handling charges. We will obtain your credit card
information at the time of the order and after your approval of the invoice; we
will charge a 50% deposit and the balance when the charcoal is ready for
shipment.
·
In the case of truck shipments from our
warehouse in San Diego, the tracking information will be available on line at
Con-way, Estes website or All Purpose Warehouse. In the case of Ocean Shipments
from our factory in Indonesia, the tracking information is also available online
through American President Line’s website. In both cases you will have the
accurate location of your order and an ETA of the delivery.
·
Payment is by credit card or check.
In case you would rather not consolidate your order with
others, we can ship individual orders of any number of boxes and type of
charcoal from our warehouse in San Diego to a local Con-way, Estes or freight
terminal near your home or business or to your residence at an additional
charge. For additional savings, where you or your friends would like to order 2
or more pallets, we can ship your order directly from our factory in Indonesia
to a Container Freight Station in your city.
If you have not used Kamado Charcoal or one of the other
types of charcoal and are concerned about the quality, we encourage you to
purchase a sample box to determine the excellent
quality for yourself before ordering.
New "2008" Model Kamado
2008
Kamado
Kamado Distribution
Company is please to announce our new 2008 Kamado. There are subtitle but
important improvements design and formula changes that we have made. The
Kamado’s beautiful exterior shape remains unchanged. Some of the new features
are described below.
·
Increase in Operating
Temperature. The “Hot Face” which
is described as the inside walls of the Kamado (or other furnaces/kilns) that
are subject to extreme heat is now formulated from a ceramic material that can
withstand excessive heat and continuous operation. We have used much the same
formula and process that has been highly successful for over 23 years in the
Meridian Stoves and Fireplace Inserts. As you know, our Meridian Stoves are
subject to tremendous wood heat and are often used 24 hours a day during winter
months. Many of our Kamados are now used commercially daily and very often by
customers subjecting Kamados to very high temperatures in cooking Pizzas and
“Flame Searing”. We decided to use this protective formula for all future
Kamados as well as the Meridians.
·
New Band “Seat”.
On the #5 and #7 Kamados there is a new seat or channel cast into the Lid and
Base to hold the heavy bands in place without slipping. Later “Band
Adjustments” will rarely if ever be necessary. A cautionary tightening of the
four band bolts should be done when necessary.
·
Improved Tile Bonding.
New formula and method for setting tile improves tile adhesion. Sealing the
tile is still recommended after initial break-in.
·
Attention to Details.
Tripling the man hours in tiling
and finishing details. Great detail is now taken to complement the aesthetics
of the 2008 Kamado.
·
Highest Standard
Fabrication. Stainless Steel
fabrication is now “Tig” welded instead of “Mig” welding. Tig welding requires
much more time and skill but results in a much finer in appearance and can be
compared to “aircraft quality”.
·
Stronger Cart.
Metal framework built into the ceramic much heavier.
·
Stronger Cart Casters.
·
Damper Top.
A new metal alloy is now used to for the Damper Top Rod that helps prevent rust
which restricts free turning for temperature control. A minimum of
cleaning/maintenance is still required.
·
Heaver Heat Resistant
Gasket. The heaver gasket helps
the tight seal between the Lid and Base for better heat control.
·
Additional Handles on
Cooking Grill. Two handles on
either side of the cooking grill for removing or setting the grill in place and
one handle to raise the “flip up” section to allow access to the firebox and
charcoal.
·
Solid Teak Handle & Knob.
New
Options:
·
Built in Temperature
Controller Manifold Port. For
Guru or other temperature controller there is a manifold built into the base of
all Kamados. A special tile hides the manifold and can easily be removed to
install the blower and controls at a later time or factory installed mounting
plate. (Picture)
·
Gas Burner Manifold.
The Kamado Gas Burner has a receptacle (pipe) that is cast in the base at the
appropriate height. This tube is hidden by tile similar to the temperature
controller (Guru or other). The tile can easily be removed and the new burner
can be screwed into the gas valve. Pictures on request..
·
Gas Burner Accessory.
Built in Gas Burn option. The burner and manifold is mounted on the wall of the
base instead of part of the Draft Door. Pictures on request.
·
Heavy Steel Bar Firebox.
Heavy steel bar Firebox, in place of ceramic Firebox.

Kamado Charcoal Request Form
Kamado Charcoal
Price effective March 1st, 2007
Our price for Kamado Extruded Coconut Charcoal (KEC) and Kamado Tamarind Lump (K
Lump) is $7.99 per box fob San Diego. This is our lowest wholesale price and a
price that will allow a fair retail price throughout the USA, even after
shipping costs ARE included. Our volume of shipping has given us excellent
shipping discounts, which we in turn are all passed on to our customers. The key
to savings is in the total pallet weight or number of boxes shipped. It gets
very expensive to ship less than 15 boxes, but less expensive to ship 30 boxes,
with a very good rate over 60 boxes per pallet and an excellent rate over 90
boxes. Our office can obtain shipping costs online and provide you with shipping
and total costs by email. We sometimes have to obtain the best rates from more
than one freight carrier and for this reason it is best to obtain this time
consuming information by email rather than tying up your (and our) telephone
lines. We look forward to providing shipping quotes, helping organize customer
consolidation of pallet orders and working with “Charcoal Kaptains”.
Prices are subject to
change without notice anytime before order is received.

Kamado Stainless Steel Gas Burner
System

After 6 years of R & D by Richard Johnson
the Kamado Company is finally producing in house their own newly designed
Stainless Steel Gas Burner System.
There are many new and unique patent
applied for design features in this burner system. First and foremost, the
stainless burner is now centered below the modified LumpsaverPlus. The
modification is a flue or "shaft " centered under the basket which directs
over 38,000 BTU's to rise from below the charcoal and into the heavy ceramic
walled cooking chamber.
The unique stainless burner's design
prevents ashes from above plugging the burner holes. With the new system,
the charcoal is ignited in 3 or 4 minutes by the rising hot gases from the
burner, up the flue, through "Firebox" hole ("Grate" is removed), into the
"LumpsaverPLUS." At the same time this ignited charcoal acts as a catalytic
converter (secondary combustion) for any unburned gas.
The result is the fastest starting,
cleanest burning and odorless gas grill anywhere. In addition, there is a
new safety feature. The burner is now mounted on the "Draft Door" allowing
the burner to be slid in or out on the stainless guides. The burner can now
be easily and safely ignited from outside the Kamado.
The new burner fits in the exact location
and use the same guides as all Kamado "Draft Doors." There is no retrofit
modification necessary, just simply slide the present draft door out and
slide the new "Draft Door Burner" in.
There are no complicated valves,
electronic ignition (that often didn't work) or components that rust or burn
out.
The new burner is available for all 5
sizes of Kamados and uses the same basic design system. Both propane or
natural gas can be provided. All components of the burner are 304 stainless
except the brass control valve and carry a 5 year warranty, including a 100%
satisfaction guarantee or your money back.
Features:
-
Gas only, charcoal only or a
combination of both gas and charcoal. Ideal to supplement gas with a
little charcoal flavor without the need to rely solely on charcoal. Often
a little "bump-up" of heat can be had by simply igniting the gas.
-
Heavy Stainless burner is hand made
solely by the Kamado Company. We have furthered our goal of making what we
sell. It is easy for us to guarantee that you will be more than satisfied
because we can be assured of the quality, design, and performance. You
can expect a lifetime of trouble free service.
-
Safe manual burner controls which are
started from outside the Kamado manually. No igniter. We have followed
the very latest High Technical engineering philosophy........... Keep It
Simple!
-
38,000 BTU's blasting from under the
charcoal "LumpsaverPlus" basket lights the charcoal and reaches 600
degrees in 6 minutes.
-
Burner is slid in and out on two long
1/2 inch stainless rods to allow for easy and safe lighting from outside
the Kamado.
-
The stainless burner, manifold and fuel
control is welded to the "Draft Door" and uses the same stainless guide
tubes runners as the present draft door and controls the airflow exactly
the same way.
-
Perfect and simple gas retrofit. There
is no modification necessary to change from charcoal only to
gas/charcoal. Just remove the draft door in slide in the gas draft door,
removed the firebox grate and put the new LumpsaverPlus with flue in the
firebox. Note, if your Kamado #7 is over 3 or 4 years you might have the
one piece firebox and grate. In this case you would need to replace the
newer two piece firebox with removable grate.
-
The heavy LumpsaverPlus with Flue is
included with the purchase of the Kamado Gas Burner System. Also included
is a new firebox if you have the earlier one piece firebox and grate..
-
The brass fuel control valve is unique
and trouble free. There are no complicated valves or controls to become
obstructed.
-
The temperature control range is
excellent. From baking temperatures (300's) to "flash" high temperature
broiling. We still suggest using charcoal for smoking (200's or less).
-
There is no burner obstruction within
the cooking chamber as with our earlier gas burner design.
-
There are no "hot spots" since the
burner is far from the cooking grill(s).
-
Ashes can be removed by sliding the
"draft door burner" out or by removing the LumpsaverPlus Flue basket from
above.
-
Gas only operation uses our special
lava rock in LumpsaverPlus basket which allows secondary combustion or
filter as gas rises through the superheated lava.
-
Gas only with lava provides a near
charcoal flavor that is often desired. Especially, when smoking chips are
placed on the outside of the Lumpsaver basket.
-
Retained heat in the heavy refractory
ceramic walls provides 80% of the cooking temperature and gives the Kamado
a "brick oven" smell and taste. Never a common fuel taste as other gas
barbeques.
-
Preheating the walls with gas instead
of charcoal will save hundreds of dollars because the BTU of gas is much
cheaper than the BTU (heat output per pound) of charcoal. Frequent Kamado
users will pay for their Kamado Burner System in months.
-
Easy to start, easy to use, efficient
and safe gas burner = more frequent Kamado use = more friends over = more
word of mouth = result is SALES for the Kamado Company!
-
Draft Door Burner Control can remain in
the front, as it is now, or positioned in the rear by loosening the bands
and turning the base 180 degrees.
-
Kamado #1 and #3 have smaller burners
but take advantage of the same design principals and high temperature
performance. Want a flash, char-rare steak in 6 minutes? Try a #3
gas/charcoal!
CAUTION: The gas and gas/charcoal
combination can reach excessive temperatures. Since 95% of Kamado owners
are serious "party" people..........don't forget to check the temperature of
your Kamado!
